Pros

The staff that work here are the best ever worked with. Unfortunately we are overworked, pay is decent for what we do

Cons

No communication usually knows about major changes 5 mins before. Strictly for profit does not care about staff, management are puppets, discriminates against people of colour. Working here is like being in prison wants results but does not motivated staff. Company does not fully understand it's role and so alot of changes are made on the fly as they go along. People of color, aboriginals and immigrants are denied services and they cater more to whites. How dear you have an opinion, keep it in your head if you want to keep your job, mind if you do express it and it is implemented you get no recognition, manager does. Stagnant roles no promotion and if you do get promoted no raise in salaries until you get to a manager level.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
