Pros

Great match on 401(k) Full time opportunity Remote opportunities Tuition assistance Some really good contracts

Cons

Water Cooler Talk/bias/discriminatory acts Minimal empathy - death in the family? If you aren't a favorite, expect backlash Isolation - at the VES project - plastic people, little help, harsh reviews with little to no encouragement - they actually tell you that they don't have time for your questions. Anxiety producing environment. Trainees were crying and having anxiety attacks (PTSD) and migraines. That's a nightmare. You'd have to work OT in order to pay your bills, honestly. Revised the bonus structure to the point that seasoned QCAs were submitting unchecked exams due to production requirements.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
