Pros

Mediasmith is a very comfortable place to learn the basics of advertising/media. It's a small company with a well rounded training regiment that exposes new employees to many different facets of media planning/buying. Coming into the job with no experience, I was able to quickly learn digital as well as traditional media planning/buying because they make a point to rotate their employees from account to account in an effort to provide a "media education". Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable and the offices are in a nice part of San Francisco. There is also a keg on tap at all times and office happy hours happen at least once a week.

Cons

Most of the value of working here is the experience gained. The compensation is very low compared to industry standards. Most people stay for a short while to gain experience and then move on to a big agency or the client side. All though the office parties are usually fun, the "mandatory happy hours" can get to be a bit much.

Pros

Awesome leadership, supports employees growth, great culture, good work/life balance

Cons

One of the best agency experiences I’ve had in my 10+ years. Only downfall is they lack some of the tools/resources that comes with larger holding company, and some limited opportunities for growth just based on smaller agency size. Would highly recommend regardless.

Pros

Remote with decent benefits and "unlimited PTO" Independent agency so flexibility with testing partners or better process ideas were usually well received

Cons

- Not closed for holiday break, unlike every other agency and not everyone on the team was allowed to be out on PTO at this time - For being a remote company, there was a lot of gossip and drama for no reason that seemed to not be addressed. - Everyone saw through the favoritism and very unbalanced promotion/raise tracks, which created animosity - Without PetSmart, they are a very small company, so if you're looking for mentorship or access to broader training seminars, a lot of tools/resources, then you'd be a better fit at a larger company
