Pros

OK, so Medidata is amazing for many reasons: - You get to work on products and business problems that make the world a healthier place - The culture is friggin awesome and the majority of people you work with are down to earth, cool, collaborative people - You actually get a work/life balance - Amazing benefits (stock purchase program, gym reimbursement, etc.)

Cons

Based on my experience, and seeing people in similar situations, this is not the best company if you're young, talented, and ambitious. So many layers of middle management have been created and the company doesn't really have much transparency in promotions or raises. Basically, neither the HR department or middle management focus on developing and promoting people under them. The company's mentality is *it doesn't matter how talented you are, we're only going to promote you if there's some position open*. It's weird, they literally disincentivize you from working your hardest. The people who I've seen be really successful stay for a year or two and use the company as a launch point to a gig at some other company that has a better title and salary.

Pros

The company was fantastic when I first started working there, the culture was embracing and supportive. Folks seem to care about your development at first and your growth.

Cons

After 3ds bought the company it started going downhill gradually, many c suite turnover, terminations and new latest CEO is clueless when it comes to executing the vision, while also making sure they continue delivering on NEXT all on all these features when at launch half of them don’t even work properly. Having spent years at the company I saw clients lose trust on the products and leadership, a lot of times CEO’s from client side would give advice on senior management on processes which being the vendor we should be the leaders on guidance not the other way around. Consider applying to other SaaS companies.
