Pros
A mid-size company with family oriented company culture. No politics like many big companies. Very friendly coworkers and managers. Upper managers value my input and contribution to the company. The company's open door policy allows me to take on more challenges or side projects whenever I feel that I can provide input to improve existing work process. Great for serious job seekers to develop professional skills and work experience. Work might get busy from time to time but overall it's a good company to work for to have a good work/life balance.
Cons
Compensation might be low to begin with for entry level positions, yet to be fair this company is not Microsoft nor Boeing. For an apple to apple comparison, I'd say the salary is still inline with other similar size companies in the industry, especially for positions that require more experience. The company provides annual review and offers very decent pay adjustment depending on performance. I've been with the company for a few years now and have worked my way up to a mid-level supervisor. Those that I’ve seen leaving over the years were mostly on short term employment basis (interns, PT) or FT worked an year or less. Many more who stayed are usually happy with the company overall. Unlike a number of reviews I saw, I’d say this company would be good for a first job, mostly for the amount of experience you can gain here and not for the paid. Once you’re able to get pass the “entry level” threshold, this is not a bad place for you to develop your career in the long run.
