Pros

They do some really good work and are good at following design trends.

Cons

I would not work here unless you are an evangelical christian. Owners are douchebags behind closed doors.

Hey there: as someone who has worked very closely with the owners for some time, I have found them to be relational, caring, and of very high character. I have no idea what led you to use the words you shared, but the long-term evidence would suggest you are wrong in this case. Also, to be clear to anyone reading this: our team is made up of a range of people with different faith beliefs. We work with businesses, nonprofits, and ministries that operate across the spectrum in terms of faith, politics, and more. We have built a team that can navigate any environment well, bringing the highest level of design.

Pros

Truly inspiring culture, people and work to be a part of on a daily basis. Safe environment - felt valued, seen and heard at every step.

Cons

Small agency mostly has its pros (things like feeling like everyone is family), but a con could be that there's not the exponential and "fast lane" career growth trajectory for yourself you may find elsewhere at a larger company.

Pros

They have a few talented employees

Cons

This studio makes applicants do a "design test," which is essentially free work for them and their actual clients. They then make you sign a contract saying you can never use that work in your portfolio. They very clearly take advantage of young designers, and they think their studio is at the same level as something like Pentagram where people are desperate to work there. They have quite an air about them, and there's a weird dynamic between the husband and wife. Weird vibes all around.

By way of clarification, we may ask for a "design test" if we are not certain the person can do the work they are being hired to do. Unfortunately, people's resumes and portfolios are not always indicative of their actual work. When we do ask for a design test, it is often a brief from a previous project, just out of convenience, not new work for an existing client. Finally, of course we ask people not to show the work in their portfolios, specifically until the client has released the work themselves. We work on things that are not yet public, so it would be wrong for an employee, freelancer, or even the company itself to show the work before it is public—but every employee at Metaleap, past and present, shows work done here in their portfolios. I am sorry you thought I was "weird". I am not sure what that means exactly, but I clearly you were not happy during your brief time freelancing here. Thank you for your contributions to the work of the studio, and wherever you are now, I hope your career is going well.
