Although the company tries to portray itself as having a startup-like atmosphere, my personal experience was more of a sugar-coated enterprise. At the end of the day, you’re a METRO employee, and all kinds of corporate treatments, deadlines, and plans are in your way.
Since the company strictly follows guidelines, there is a huge lack of authority in many managerial positions, resulting in a lack of decision-making power. This means that you cannot expect rational decisions from your managers, HR, or the CEO about how to go about a topic. In the bottom line, if you find yourself in need of support from your employer, not only will you be denied this support, but you can also face cold, emotionless decisions that only favor company benefits, completely ignoring employee well-being and mental health. My personal experience with this company indicates that you cannot trust and rely on them as an adequate employer.
