Pros
Many talented, down-to-earth, productive & caring people Comfortable office in great downtown location, + hybrid schedule Very good benefits, especially health & time off Purpose is to help NYC's most vulnerable Lots of community involvement Gives interns real experience instead of busywork Very inclusive environment
Cons
Controlled by a handful of vindictive and unqualified people with political connections (source: their resumes on LinkedIn) Micromanagement & refusing accountability is the norm Most people who last the first year have never worked anywhere else; they believe this is a normal work environment Widespread culture of fear w/obvious displays of power Non-resident part-timer "filling in" for 2 VP positions has final say in most decisions, large or small
