Pros

The colleagues and manager are great to work with, they treat you with respect and never belittle you the way the lady boss does. They are all open to communication and foster a supportive work environment.

Cons

The lady boss excessively micromanages every aspect of the work, despite being absent from the office most of the time (she will deny these allegations toward her). She constantly offers unsolicited advice on how to "improve" your work while relentlessly criticizing your efforts. Her behavior extends to verbal abuse, both online and in person. She also displays clear favoritism towards some, often comparing to other employees in an unfair manner. Additionally, she forces employees to work overtime without any form of compensation—neither in pay nor time off—essentially treating it as free labor. To make matters worse, she frequently becomes frustrated with her own decisions and takes out her anger on the staff. The negative reviews about her on Glassdoor are entirely accurate—nothing has improved since they were written.

Pros

This review will be from an intern's perspective (I was at MV for quite a while). I hope prospective interns will learn much from this review and then make an informed decision. People -> During my time, the full-timers were friendly and approachable and would help me if I asked. I developed a number of good friendships and I am sure you will as well. TBH the full-timers are one of my favourite things about MV. Beyond informal friendships, you also have the chance and means to spend time with them on content shoots/other projects. Some of my best memories in MV were spent working with the fulltimers. Culture and Environment -> Sometimes there are tasks that emerge suddenly and you have to respond quickly. Generally the atmosphere is lighthearted. I had a lot of good laughs during my time there. There is a pantry with snacks and coffee which is nice. And the office is comfortable and lacks nothing. You can also borrow the office bikes to dabao lunch. No issues here I feel. Tasks -> You are generally given a lot of freedom to ideate and shoot your own content. You are also free to recruit the help of other interns/full-timers. So I would say Freedom and Cooperation are the key words. You may wish to specialize into specific task types (e.g., if you are great at drawing, you may want to focus your work along those lines), however, in my case, I was a generalist and so I did a variety of task types including retail, content creation, event planning, etc. The best way I can put it is that generally, MV adapts to what you are willing/able to provide. Also, you don't need to be amazing or even have much experience with content creation/retail/any other task- you can learn on the job and/or from the others (you don't even strictly need to know how to cycle). So don't worry too much about "Am I good enough?" etc. It is an internship that evolves with you. Your attitude is really the key factor. Location -> The place (both the office and the retail store) is conveniently located beside Tai Seng MRT. So it's definitely not out of the way. And there's quite a bit of nice food around the area too. Summary -> I personally feel that my internship at MV was a fantastic one. The environment is comfortable, the people are nice, and you have a lot of freedom. To really maximize the potential of this internship, I recommend that you be proactive in your work and your interactions with the other fulltimers/interns. It is a dynamic place that will reward you if you allow it to. With a good attitude, I doubt you will regret interning here :)

Cons

For me, I think everything was fine. No significant cons.
