Pros
Coworkers in US were generally easy to get along with and helpful. Coworkers in Germany were a bit out of touch and lacked awareness for what true innovation looks like. German employees are very project focused and unfortunately they seem to lead their own projects even if they receive negative feedback. These are wasted resources and made myself and other US employees somewhat resentful of the German colleagues (unfortunate but true). Obviously this is not the fault of any one single employee and I realize that. Oh wait... this is supposed to be for pros. Other pros: -401k match is great -can climb the ladder if you work hard -remote working culture depending on department
Cons
-German colleagues wasting resources on 20 year old theories/projects and rolling them out to employees as "best in class" -annual raises are weak and below market. -no stock/equity in US and LTI is also below market -culture is very much US versus Germany (as if you can tell by my post). US is becoming as big as Germany site and Germany can't give up that power so they send their employees to the US for leadership positions. -difficult to make individual impact as decision making is frequently bottle necked due to the hierarchical structure. -bonus percentage well below industry average. -CEO sees employees as numbers not as people
