Pros

I signed on to work with Miltenyi because I believed in what the company said it was about; I stay because I have seen "behind the curtain" and know that the goal is just as it was described to be on day one. It's nice to work for a company that has a mission bigger than the bottom line, and here at Miltenyi there is a tangible result - we are helping impact a better quality of life. It's incredible to have a hand in that. I also like the people I work with (most of them - hehe). People work hard here and don't have a ton of time to chat, but the mix of backgrounds is super interesting and I've met some really great people. The work itself is challenging. Some people wouldn't like this, but I do. I've been able to work on projects that wouldn't be accessible to me at larger companies so it has helped stretch me professionally.

Cons

Kind of a positive and a negative - this is a growing company, which has great benefits in many areas. On the flip side, it can be frustrating at times because things move quickly and the communication isn't always there to make the transition periods comfortable.

Pros

Work is simple and subsidize lunches

Cons

QC Micro management is grossly incompetent. Management doesn't accept any accountability and is always playing the blame game, pushing all the blame to their subordinates. They lack any technical skills whatsoever. How are they the head of the department but can't make any technical decision. Everything has to go through a consultant in which the company pays thousands of dollars to. Maybe the company can save money if they just stop spending money on a consultant and actually hire a manager who knows what they are doing. Management has the weakest ego of all time. Don't even think about questioning them or respectfully challenging them on how things are done. Management is threatened by anyone who is competent due to their own insecurity. Anyone who even had a shred of competency is pushed out. Management loves to dumb down every single procedure and greatly discourages any change that would make life easier because they are clearly not bright enough to be able to justify the changes. Due to their own lack of knowledge, there is no development at all for their subordinates. Management has no respect for their team and thinks half of them are dumb. Half the team has no idea what they are doing. Hardly anyone even understands any of the assays that are ran. Don't even think about asking how an assay works because no one will be able to explain it. This is one of the worst teams I've ever been on. Half the team gossips and is passive aggressive, management included.
