Pros
A lot of opportunities for career progression
Cons
Training for teachers to understand their exclusive lesson plan template is conducted on an average of twice a month. Not helping with the unorganised leadership in the school. Teacher got to also conduct two types of enrichment lessons (CTS - somewhat like a speech and drama lesson, and Neuromoove - a physical and neural development lesson) every week in the afternoon which was not known to me over the interview. What I understood was that there are separate enrichment teachers to conduct the enrichment lessons, and if we were to conduct those lessons, we have to be trained. I was not trained but I was tasked to conduct those enrichment lessons. I asked for training but they only have it 6 months after I joined the company. I feel that it is unfair and inadequate with having to conduct those enrichment lessons in this manner - without letting me know prior to joining (and even told me that it's a separate trained enrichment teacher who conduct it). Not helping that the pay is lower than average. Or lower than my previous school, considering the amount of work that we have to do - conduct enrichment lessons without being trained, washing toys and cots weekly. Contract is also like a scam. It states one-year contract. The contract is very vague in explaining that we can only tender after the end of one year, thus that means you technically got to stay with the company for 1 year 3 months after serving 3-month notice period. If a teacher tender before the one year mark, he/she have to pay two-month salary worth, capped at $8,000 , to pay for the "training fees" as the first year of employment is considered the "Training Fee Payable Period". Upon tendering after my one year contract, I will end my job only next year, which is after December this year. In my previous company, we are entitled to get our bonus as long as we leave the company at the end of the year, which mean my serving notice period is part of my working period. Over here in MindChamps, serving notice period is not part of the working period, and since I tender before December ends, I am not entitled to the bonus even though I will only leave the company next year (after this end December) after serving the notice period. All in all, I feel my experience in MindChamps feels like a scam. I have had a very bad experience here and I will not go back to MindChamps to work ever again.
