Pros
Work colleagues were very nice
Cons
Never have I felt so small and worthless. This job seriously damaged my mental health, confidence, and self-worth. I worked hard from day one, only ever taking a short legal break during my 9-hour shifts. Any time I seemed unsure, it was because management hadn’t given clear direction. I was there less than a week. There was no mention of a probation period when I started, and no contract until the day I was dismissed—conveniently uploaded after I was let go. There was no proper dismissal process, just “here’s what you did wrong, now leave.” On my last day, I could sense something was off. The manager was cold and dismissive while chatting warmly with others. I asked for tasks when I finished mine, but often no one knew what I should do next. I was unpacking boxes and trying to stock shelves that had physically no room left but was told to just fill the shelf. Somehow I was told I was “too slow”—even though I worked at the same pace as others. It was clear they just wanted bodies to help prep the store for opening. I would not recommend this company or job to anyone. For me, this felt like a lucky escape.
