Pros

not a lot I can think of

Cons

I used to work for a new non-profit foundation that Joe, the same Mivatek founder, started. It will fail for sure, just a matter of time. He hired and fired people in a blink of eyes, not considering that people left their previous job to join his team. Usually, to fire, you should at least give people a chance to do a performance evaluation and if things really do not work out again, then fire. People are fired are left in a confused state and probably never see it coming. While you might have more money than a lot of people, I believe one day karma will serve you right. It will come back to bite you in one way or another. Let's see. :)

Pros

I have been working here for 8 months and this is a pretty rewarding though challenging place. You will find lots of room to grow if you are the right talent. People here are nice, friendly, supporting and communicating. We do work as a team here. People go out for lunch together, karaoke, celebrating the birthdays with yummy cakes and company lunch events at restaurants for almost all big holidays. CEO as a business veteran can definitely show you the know-how in the growth of startups, IoT industry and the business skill if you are willing to listen and learn. Although opinioned as many other successful businessmen, our CEO DOES listen to your suggestion if you’re prepared before presenting the homework or assignment to him. You have to know what you’re talking about, as he is a very smart guy and polymath. I do feel respected from him in my expertise area. The pay is rewarding and will be increased by the management even without asking if you prove your value, just like at anywhere else. Like several startups, thanks for our office manager, we have mini-kitchen with endless pastries from Costco including Madeleine, croissants, Palmiers, cake rolls, and etc., and endless green tea packs, coffee and hot chocolate. Occasionally our colleagues do bring homemade muffin, bread, brownie, and etc. here, or sometimes snacks from business travel or vacation. (Yes, I am a girl and I do have to try very hard to avoid that area after realizing gaining few pounds in few months.) The working hours are pretty flexible but of course, as a responsible person, you still need to finish the work.

Cons

Yes, this is a startup company, so everyone needs to work hard and contribute. This may not be a good place for a 9-5 workers. If you’re not a team player, a startup may not be a good fit for you, either.
