Pros
Some managers are great at fostering team spirit, and a healthy and fun work environment. Some would mentor and help give careful critique to employees. I experienced the atmosphere and position as, dependent on the manager. For those that were good, it was great. For those that weren’t, it was really a tough time.
Cons
There wasn’t much room for advancement. Sometimes the wrong people were put in management roles partially due to lack of involvement of higher managers. For those that are focused on developing tech skills, those were sometimes utilized. However, on the project I was involved, this was to a much lesser degree than I had hoped. The majority of the role was customer support.
