Pros

The office was nice and most of the coworkers were nice. The events were interesting and I enjoyed the Kaizens.

Cons

There was always a sense that there would be cuts if the partners or juniors weren't bringing in enough money or someone wasn't doing a good enough job and HR was snide and passive aggressive. There was a spoken culture and lived culture mismatch. A stated growth culture with a real cutthroat aspect beneath.

Pros

MSC is a team environment - employees really support each other. The managment team cares about employees and wants each person to succeed. The benefits are excellent, especially the health insurance. PTO is also strong. More than anything, it's a culture built around continuous improvement. The pressure to perform is high, but that drives each employee to improve!

Cons

No real cons I can think of.

Pros

Every single person there is friendly, kind, welcoming, and hard-working to their core. Even with differing work styles, it was always easy to call a colleague a friend here. I hope I always stay connected to them. The job is totally remote, pays well, and supports a flexible schedule if you are sick, have appointments, sick children, etc. My direct manager was my favorite manager I have ever had and they were very devoted to my professional development and helping me to succeed in my role. I learned an immense amount of information about executive recruiting and now possess knowledge about several niche industries which I am sure will come in handy for the rest of my career journey. I am thankful for everything I learned in this job and the awesome teams of people I worked with every day.

Cons

Very sudden and random layoffs- two rounds happened in one year. This left the company short-staffed and the remaining team members spread thinly at times. When the company is busy with clients, the hours are extremely long; ten hours a day straight was not enough for me to get done what I needed during a three-month busy period there. Everyone was pretty overworked during this time, making (understandably) for sometimes short fuses among employees and quite a lack of work/life balance. The demanding nature of the job heightened my anxiety to the point where it was difficult to enjoy the company or my role, and I knew I wanted the rest of my career to be outside of the recruiting industry. I understand that jobs are meant to be stressful- I truly believe that any job worth having and working hard at should be at least somewhat stressful; it reminds you of what you're working for, which for me is professional development and betterment. Had there been some kind of a safe space for employees, the lack of work/life balance would maybe have rested with me a little easier than it did.
