Pros
Motosport is a great place for people starting out their careers: 1) You can get really good exposure to an e-commerce firm's operations. Because it's a smaller subsidiary, it's possible to work closely with people in different departments and broaden your skillset. If you find something that interests you, you can likely get involved. 2) On the other hand, since it's ultimately owned by a much larger company, you have access to much better benefits that can no longer be matched by really small companies.
Cons
Motosport seems to have limited opportunities for growth and promotion. This is the biggest surprise about the company, considering that it has grown so rapidly over the years. *I got the perception that it was important to always "appear busy" rather be busy doing meaningful things that moved the business forward. *As the years went by, I watched people always running around like chickens with their heads cut off, but never really going anywhere. I wondered if people were being directed to do meaningless work. *Regarding the limited opportunities seen here: I have since realized that this might be common to mid-size firms around the Portland market....I have worked other firms and seen the exact same thing. My final advice: Get a couple years of experience at Motosport, and get a pay raise when you move elsewhere. DO NOT STAY TOO LONG.
