Pros

Great co-workers, down to Earth CEO, health benefits

Cons

Start-up with no clear direction. They have had 2 rounds of layoffs in the last 30 days and the company has gone from almost 100 employees to about 20. Investors won't give this startup company any more funding because they know it's doomed. They never had a profitable business model. Their goal was to book moves regardless if they were profitable or not, and hire hire hire. I am not a financial analyst, but I kept scratching my head when they kept hiring, had a goal of 500 employees by 2015, yet there was barely any profit on the moves we were booking. It was all about gross bookings, not profit. Now the effects of this horrible business model are showing their colors. Now they mark up moves sometimes almost double the price of what it should cost in order to cover overhead, and make a profit. Yes, they do need to make a profit, but the whole sales team felt morally wrong selling a $3,000 move for $6500. If I was moving, I would not call Moveline as you can get a high quality move from a major Van Line for 30-60 percent less. Moveline will be lucky to survive through the end of 2014. Just like the whole DTP, you can't overtake an area already dominated by big corporate casinos. That's a big gamble, and you're playing your last hand now.

Pros

Moveline had one of the best teams I ever worked with and for. The engineering team there was extremely capable, collaborative, smart, and creative. I would love to work with all of them again in the future.

Cons

Moveline is no longer a company, which is very unfortunate. Words words words words.

Pros

Everyone seems generally nice. Didn't really know them on a personal level but they do seem nice.

Cons

Was brought in for a group interview that consisted of a "speed dating" type style. Interviewed with five people for about five minutes each. After this, was invited to come back the next day for a follow up interview that was more formal. Interviewed with two people, was instructed to read a script of a voicemail, and write an email follow up to a customer. Overall, the interview process itself was not bad at all given that it was so fast and one day after another. Got a call back the following week saying that they decided they weren't going to hire anybody for the month of September or October, after all. Completely unprofessional. I would think that a team would decide decisively that they are going to bring on an employee BEFORE interviewing a number of people and then changing their minds about hiring ANYBODY. No explanation other than they've changed their minds. Absolutely ridiculous. I was even told by multiple interviewers that they could see me doing well at this job and, to be honest, I would have done really well. It's not exactly rocket science. The amount of time I spent driving to downtown Vegas and sitting through their interview process, just to find out they've changed their mind about bringing on somebody for a position that's only $12/hr? Yeah, complete waste of time and very insulting.
