Pros
Solid benefits - 401k, health insurance, PTO, work from home, and a beautiful KC office. Being employee-owned is a plus, and fun company events. Many coworkers are supportive and great to work with.
Cons
The company talks a lot about being progressive and inclusive (with DEIB programs), but the reality doesn’t quite line up. Leadership is overwhelmingly non-diverse (check their website, and you’ll maybe see two people of color out of 30 in leadership roles). The culture at the top feels uptight and unapproachable. The top exec walked past my desk almost daily and rarely acknowledged me with a simple hello or good morning. Ironically, as a person of color, I’ve felt more welcomed at companies that don’t claim to be inclusive but treat everyone with respect.
