Pros

Future employers can see you can handle anything if you have been here for more than 6 months

Cons

The office was eerily similar to a dungeon with the staff walking on eggshells to avoid the wrath of the up-and-down CEO. There were unrealistic targets which did not make business sense - 40 viewings a week? The only relief was when the CEO took Friday off. After spending nearly 2 years there I still don't know what the companies business plan or vision is - they constantly change their minds. Micromanagement at its worst, everything you did was scrutinised, emails, calls, personal lives etc. were under the microscope and checked. The public sacking of staff was indicative of their scaremongering culture. They would make you feel bad for not staying outside working hours and would email you late in evenings and on the weekends to question you. There were a lot of threatening emails from the directors. The 7 day weeks, 30 minute lunch breaks (monitored) made me exhausted and made some of the staff ill. I would recommend to anyone thinking about working here to think twice, especially as a first job, as they have destroyed some very talented people's confidence. This is not how a company should be run - people are numbers and aren't treated as human beings.

Pros

Moved back to the city after a stint away, had a small relationship with the MD due to a previous role and was brought in, spent almost an exact year with the firm and every aspect was outstanding. The training, social life, career progression. The office was always lively and had great banter with the staff. Working with properties you would only dream about living in (I’m in my early 20s and from the suburbs) Money was great but as always in any commission based role you had to seriously graft for it (but not badly pressured to)The support from the management team was respectful and helpful, when in times of need. Large database and clientele very good knowledge of the area and the wide patch means you are always kept busy. Great firm to work for and wish everyone all the best.

Cons

Only downside for me was the commute however that wasn’t down to the firm obviously.
