Pros
Great people to work with in a variety of stations all over the Bay Area. Management is open to hearing your voice and you will feel respected. 8, 10, 12 hour shifts but you can expect to go over your shift times many of the time, "calls stack" as they say. Work hard for at least year to gain that needed experience! Some people stick around for a few years and some decide to move up in the company. Either way, opportunities open! You'll excellent hands-on experience for a variety of fields and life skills that you will always use no matter where you go in life!
Cons
Dispatch team can be the most difficult to work with sometimes. Anonymity really can distance people and set a prejudice that only grows more touch to break. The uniforms are great during the winter but sure are heavy in the warmer months, near impossible in the hottest months. EMTs are vastly underpaid for what they do, no matter where you go. Transport EMT work can be quite dull.
