NSPCC Response
3yThank you for taking the time to share your experience of working with the NSPCC. It is good to hear that you were part of a team who reflected the commitment we all have to helping and supporting vulnerable children and their families. We understand the importance of training to ensure our staff are fully equipped to deliver high quality services and to also have opportunities to develop new skills. Following the amalgamation of our Children’s Services and National Services Directorates into one Services Directorate, we took the opportunity to review our mandatory training and other development opportunities including safeguarding training, core training and skills training and offer a range of courses, alongside our programme to develop, support and assess newly qualified social workers. We recognise it is not only what we do to prevent child abuse and neglect that is important but how we do this and we strive to maintain a working environment where everyone feels valued and supported to play their part. I am therefore concerned to read your comment regarding the culture you experienced which is not reflective of our values and behaviours. Bullying in any form will not be tolerated and I would encourage you to contact me so we can discuss and understand more about your concerns. Karen Squillino, Local Services Director
