Pros

- Classes were scheduled on 2 days of the week, so plenty of time for prep/grading. - Direct supervisors were easy to reach and helpful

Cons

- Taught only non-English majors, and only met with each class once per week. Class sizes ranged from 35-55. Building relationships with students was difficult.

Pros

It is easy to get a job at this University. The University even provides an apartment (not for free, and not good). Only if you get the compensation for renting an outside apartment will you live in good condition. The university has a canteen with affordable prices.

Cons

You will be treated as disposable without the same rights as Chinese teachers. The work environment, created by HR, is highly toxic with ignorance, no communication, gaslighting, and bullying. The university mostly promises high salaries but pays 50-70%. The contracts contain nearly impossible workloads. Then the university does not accept workloads not written in the contract, e.g., you publish a book, and then the university tells you not have enough publications. HR also does everything to not accepting workloads. The school clerks are willing helpers in that matter.
