Pros

Like many at the Association, I read these reviews with a morbid curiosity. Being relatively new, many of the comments have not reflected my experience. As such, I never felt compelled to write. Until now. A recent review accused an executive of racism. Having had several interactions with that individual, I was taken aback by the accusation. It was so counter to my impression of the man that I felt I must have missed something. It was also totally inconsistent with my view of the company. How could I be so blind? So I decided to take another look at the company. What did I see? I saw an organization with a great benefits package, many employee events, free snacks and nice offices in DC , Orlando and soon, Chicago. I saw an organization which last week honored over a dozen employees who, as nominated and chosen by their peers, exhibited the best of the values the Association strives to represent. The Company's highest honor was awarded to two individuals: a female and a person of color. I saw an organization which, after the Orlando shooting last year, responded from the highest Executive levels to console and comfort staff that were impacted by the tragedy. I saw a highly diverse Executive team where women and people of color are strongly represented. This diversity can be seen at every level of management across every function of the organization. And I saw the executive accused of racism, who willingly chose to join this highly diverse organization, make his first major decision the promotion of the Vice President (a person of color) who oversees our largest revenue area. Since he's arrived, I've seen that same executive treat everyone, regardless of race or gender, with the utmost courtesy and respect. And I saw the shock that many felt when he was accused. The one thing I have not seen: anyone who believes that ugly accusation has any validity whatsoever. I saw a company of good people energized to defend a good person. I saw a place that I'm proud to be a part of.

Cons

There has been significant change over the last few years and the adjustment has been difficult. High turnover has created unrest in parts of the organization.
