Pros

Benefits are great - perhaps some of the best in the work force. Employees can shop at NEXCOM if they are civilian - meaning if they don't have a military ID (retired/active/reserved or military dependent ID.) Doesn't "shut-down" when the government does, as they are NAF and get nothing from Navy/US Government.

Cons

NFs are not paid as much as NA/NS ranks. Doesn't understand their customers anymore. HQ does not listen to the "lower" management They are not modernized - despite saying they are. Their hardware and software used in DCs and in stores is outdated. Can't compete with Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Target. Especially online. No real room for advancement. All of HR information is only accessible via work computers - can't access outside of work. HR is a revolving door in my region.

Pros

Not sure there are any anymore

Cons

Pay is half of what it would be in the private sector. Management will move you into a different role without your consent. They used to offer flexible telework but removed the benefit. Now teams are trying to get by while half their positions sit empty since we can’t seem to hire…because no one wants to work here
