Pros
Work from home, good compensation, decent office, good bonus scheme although your manager decides based on arbitrary reasons if you receive it or not.
Cons
Generally the company has horrible internal processes, or should I say doesn't have processes. The company is very Russian centric, and in most cases employees have a limited knowledge of English. As a non-Russian speaker I've experienced meetings where everyone would just switch to Russian because it was easier and they didn't understand me. Management in the team I worked was horrible, as the Manager was inexperienced and emotionally unstable at times. Gaslighting is a normal occurrence, and internal arguments and fight frequently devolve into people actually crying and yelling. Anything you try to get done you get pushback, with the saying the that wasn't the way it was done in Yandex. Everybody boast about the Yandex culture, but they forget they are no longer in Russia where they had a complete monopoly over tech. Goals are more than ambitious, in my opinion unattainable for InfoSec, and you get blocked at every step because everyone gets the chance to scrutinize you and the work you are doing, while your manager gaslights you saying that you need to use diplomacy at every step. Generally you can't get anything done and you will be bullied most of the times when you suggest something that isn't the "Yandex way". Company is rewriting the old Yandex code, and we'll see how that product works out.
