Pros

Company looks prestigious on your resume. Large company network with potential relocation opportunities, lateral moves, etc. Pay was decent for my department and location. I made great connections and had the opportunity to collaborate on projects that helped me grow as a professional.

Cons

Buckle up, because this will be a long one. Nestle took over the company I had been working for full-time for years. We had already changed hands a few times, so I was no stranger to some of the growing pains that came with acquisitions. The Nestle acquisition was hands-down the worst experience of them all. They changed too much too fast, and we suffered for their mistakes. They took away so much, the health benefits were more expensive for less coverage, and they insisted on treating highly educated scientists like line workers. The company is so large that calling HR feels like contacting a customer service line. In many ways, they truly embody the corporate evil that we all talk about. They plaster on the fakest smiles and tell you you're family, but their actions say otherwise. My own personal experience within my department was a rough one. If it weren't for the people I enjoyed working with and the level of seniority I had, I would have left sooner. Many days were miserable. Drama and favoritism were rampant. Someone was crying about something every other day. Leaving was such a weight off my shoulders.

Pros

-I was granted access to a learning hub which allowed me to earn a certificate

Cons

-worked for 2 years without a single day off -was literally setup at work by someone with a fake professional background -was told by my supervisor: "go to your room and relax or whatever you need to do." because apparently, I was too "emotional" during one-on-one with my lead.. -worked on a project scoped by Jesus -listened to creative director presenting new branding 6 days before Jesus's deadline. -started creating work with the new branding as instructed only to be told "what are you doing?" the next day. -requested postmortem, got absolutely ghosted having to cut contract 15 days later
