Pros
Excellent benefits (health, matching 401k), amazing opportunities to learn new technologies and be a key contributor in a fast paced, small team / dynamic environment. With a service and team that operates 24x7x365 across 5 time zones there is always something going on and something new every time you start your day. Having spent the last decade in tech, at both startups and big enterprise, I can say that I’ve been exposed to and learned more cutting edge skills maintaining a critical production environment here than in all of that time combined. If you are motivated and truly have a passion for the technology you use or want to learn more about in an agile based environment, NetActuate may be a great fit. This will resonate with you if you’ve been part of successful teams launching new products or services, or if you’ve felt dread being part of teams that seem to just be going through the motions, doing the same thing day in and day out while the world seems to be passing you by. The management team (including the CEO) are extremely hands on and available - both personally and professionally. As a small company with a fairly flat structure, you have the opportunity to wear multiple hats and can really make a difference in a meaningful way.
Cons
If you are just looking for a “job” or aren’t able to context switch well, or are used to more traditional IT / waterfall methodology with tasks handed to you, you won’t be successful. Depending on your role, extensive travel to different sites around the world may be required. With communication primarily over slack, web meetings, etc.
