Pros
A decent stepping stone I guess
Cons
Oh boy. What a doozy. First off, they carry themselves like they're the biggest presence in the market while they have the lowest communicative footprint in the Triangle. They need to carry some humility and a fact check. Their news staff is consistently rotating out because they refuse to pay them fairly and/or they can't stand news management. They overload their marketing department to the point of exhaustion. They're always changing up their show runnings and graphics to make them "look like the other guy". The relationship between news and production is completely toxic and any issue that goes wrong on air, production gets thrown under the bus even when it's clearly not their fault. The sales team is a somewhat well oiled machine, but there is clear favoritism. Some of the AEs are able to get away with a lot while some are fighting to meet quota. The coordinators have been scaled down significantly and the burnout shows with unrealistic expectations. Sales management seems to be tone deaf of their teams needs and are only satisfied with results. And then there's administration. Oh my goodness what a disaster. There is absolutely no employee support whatsoever. If there's any issue, it's seen as a "you" problem rather than a "them" problem. If you dare try to speak up or out or try to get out, they will fight tooth and nail to penalize you, even to the point of legal reprecussions. The general manager is barely around and when he is, he only cares for results. He's clearly just trying to get up to a cushy corporate gig. You're a general manager of a local station, maybe show more interest in the people you have with that are one foot out the door than kissing up to Perry and his cronies.
