Pros
I really enjoyed most of the people I worked with over the years. I got to meet and learn from some really talented people. The station gave me plenty of opportunities to learn and better my skills. Honestly, my cowkers were one of the best parts of the job. I also am passionate about journalism, so working to keep the community informed was great. The health insurance and PTO policy is also good.
Cons
Management seemed overwhelmed and in over their heads. They have no idea how things actually work, and it is very obvious. Managers let certain employees bully them into decisions and ignore concerns of others. Managers very obviously played favorites. They did not enforce policies fairly. Some employees could get away with things while others would be punished. Certain employees would be given "perks" and benefits while others would be told no. The workload is constantly increasing because of horrible staffing. The station laid off and fired a large amount of people in 2025. Others left because they hated working there. I would advise anyone looking to work here .... DON'T. RUN AWAY. You will be overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated. Some people have been working 6 days a week because they are so short staffed. My bosses loved to call me a "manager" but never let me actually make decisions or implement changes. My opinion and input was constantly ignored. I worked there for years but was still stuck working weekends while new producers got a M-F schedule. I could go on and on about how this place is being ran into the ground.
