Pros
-Pays Well -Kids are really fun to work with -Paid days off -Staff discount for staff children
Cons
I have been working there for almost a year. Have had a decent experience working with the girls in my room. We get along fairly well. However, the ‘support’ we get from administration is disappointing to say the least. There is a lot of secrecy and lack of communication within the administration which leaves us in difficult position in communicating with each other and parents. Also, there are some problems with cliques and some people getting away with much more than others. Therefore, there is an obvious inequality of treatment amongst the staff. Administrators and Coordinators are also very good at making staff feel guilty when they have appointments and/or are sick. Staff are treated like children. We are not allowed to make decisions in our rooms without consulting with coordinators. Small mistakes are blown out of proportion while others get away with larger offenses. There is a lot of micromanaging and zero independence in the classrooms. I have seen the owner enter the building only twice in the almost year I have been working there, yet she makes big decisions about policies and staffing changes without consulting the people whom these changes would be affecting. Overall, I love working with the kids and I have a lot of fun with the women I work with. However, the continued issues with administration make it difficult to see myself continuing to working there.
