Pros
The people make the difference at this company. I've never worked with such a great team and several groups that are so willing to help each other. The pay is competitive, and benefits are good.
Cons
If I were the owner, truly embracing the "Lead like an Owner" philosophy, I would explore every possible avenue to reduce costs before resorting to job cuts. A real owner understands the value of their employees and sees layoffs as a last resort—not the first. Eliminating a hundred jobs, only to follow it with a million-dollar summit, sends the wrong message. A true owner would focus on fixing what's broken—like the ongoing issues with the Aseptic lines—and hold accountable the leaders who failed to get those operations running efficiently. Cutting dedicated, high-performing employees while keeping ineffective leadership in place solves nothing and only perpetuates the cycle of failure. If job cuts have become a regular occurrence, it's time for leadership to look inward and address the deeper, systemic issues at play. That's what real ownership looks like. I'm not confident the owner of this company sees that. It's all numbers to him. We got a nice warm end of year message from Andy saying how great the company is doing, and then they turn around and downsize hard working, important people.
