- not a union shop, unlike most other grocery stores in the area, and very committed to not being one. (to any current employees: this is why your pay is above average. it's a bribe.)
-- this means you WILL NOT have anyone who has your back when you have a problem with management. be wary of landing on a manager's bad side, be prepared to fight if you get a target on your back, and be extra prepared for what happens when you lose.
- good luck if you actually have to use the insurance for anything beyond preventative care! the deductible is $5000 in 2024.
- management does not listen to or want to hear from people they don't like or who are "squeaky wheels," and will often be hostile and retaliatory to them. that "positive attitude/RAVE" mentality will very much be weaponized against you.
- you'll be worked to the bone, shot down every time you suggest ways to avoid being worked to the bone, then told to not be so negative about the fact that you're being worked to the bone.
- people who talk about the cult-like vibe? they're right. it's not an exaggeration, and it's done on purpose.
