Pros

A good learning experience in the Auto industry. You handle all kinds of different parts and components of vehicles it is hard NOT to learn a thing or two. Then the odd battery install here and headlight replacement there and you start to become much more comfortable under the hood of a car or truck. They do offer PLENTY of workers benefits as well for yourself and family.

Cons

Customers expect either a slave or a genius behind that counter. Some people were so clueless that you were the Messiah if you fixed a small problem like telling them that they actually NEED TO REPLACE AN AIR FILTER. Some other customers would know exactly what they want in their own way and if you weren't on their wavelength, good luck. This is where really good people skills/customer service skills come into play but that will only get you so far. Stubborn mechanics with OLD cars are the worst. Some of the things they need haven't been standard on cars since the smog era and certain bits and pieces are impossible to find unless you go to a junkyard. You will tell them this (what they didn't wanna hear cus they need it done TODAY) and then it is your fault they are throwing thousands at a car that is maybe older than they are.

Pros

Great company. Great management. Flexible schedule. Competitive pay. Great advancement opportunities as long as you work it. Friendly customers and great coworkers.

Cons

Interviews and getting hired on usually take a while because it goes through so many people up the line. Most companies the store manager can hire and/or fire someone but this company it all goes through several people

Pros

-Always busy -Easy to make sales and extra money off commission and spiffs -Good starter job but need some automotive experience -up date and easy to understand operation system

Cons

-Store managers most of the time are really bad and not fit for their position. -Moving up is not that easy unless you’re liked by upper management -if you’re good at your job you get exploited since your the only dependable person -Overtime (could be good if you’re into grinding but not if you have a family)
