Pros
-I had the luck to have a great team. I know it is not the case for everyone in this company as I have covered other stores and met other employees. -50% off for Calzedonia and intimissimi -Free uniform (although some of them are quite ugly or revealing)
Cons
-The upper management should have better organisation. My manager is always clearly exhausted of the quantity of work and it affects everyone on the team. -the store itself has an awful layout as the stockroom is on the fifth floor. Most days are spent going up and down to get more stock on the sales floor. -the constant staff turnover is extremely draining. having to train everyone new and deal with their mistakes is very taxing. The turnover is in my opinion caused by not good enough pay and a very disorganised company overall. -I am quite unlucky to have started in this particular store of Calzedonia in London as it is the busiest of all of them. -If you are working full time, say goodbye to having a good work/life balance. with the commute and the one hour break in your 8 hour shift, you're back home late and too tired to do anything. The rota is different every week so there is no semblance of routine whatsoever. In the end, I understand that most people working in retail is clearly just a temporary job for them and so did I thought for myself in the beginning. And with that mindset, most people will not care about the job being well done, so then you find yourself picking up the slack everyone else left. As key holder, you have quite a lot of responsibilities that you eventually learn on the job. But you'll find some people resting on you for most of the outcome of the day. I reckon most of this is true for most companies who are in the retail sector, good luck for everyone out there who is working retail.
