Pros

Cons
If you are very lucky you will only be overworked and extremely underpaid, and eventually systematically laid off. But the average experience is one of intensive, abusive gaslighting from every single member of management. You will gain no valuable experience here. This is not worth your time or your skill or your effort. Run away and run away fast. The lies: You will make and design toys for children! You will have a cool, creative job! It's a local and successful company that everyone respects. The truth: You will slightly alter existing products from the cheapest, saddest factories in China. There are no photos of these factories and only the greasiest and highest paid managers ever step foot in these places. The products you will be forced to make will have insane turn around times -- occasionally only a handful of DAYS -- and you will be forced to accept huge production runs of garbage low quality toys that the sales team will have tricked a big box store into pre-purchasing based on extra beautiful samples that are painstakingly made by artists (who make just above minimum wage) in the moldy basement (that floods weekly). The amount of plastic waste and garbage this company produces is staggering. There is no creativity to be found here. There is no team work, no project management, no leadership and no one to learn from. You will be given endless nonsensical impossible tasks and the more questions you ask to clarify your work the bigger the target becomes on your back for the next round of "essential lay-offs". This is a very sad reality for the creative industry in Halifax. Every manager at this company should be deeply ashamed of themselves. The CEO and President in particular. I hope this place is investigated because the fraud and employee abuse are very real. The company is in major financial distress (that has been going on for over a year and has nothing to do with COVID) and has burned bridges with most major retailers in North America. There's truly never been a worse time to work here if you were even still considering it.
