      Pros

      The Summer Nurse Externship is an AWESOME experience for Nursing students between their junior and senior year. I was able to get experience in the hospital, get a feel for what kind of nursing I want to do, and make tons of connections.

      Cons

      Not all of the staff were familiar with the externship position so I had to explain my position many times.

      Good benefits, higher pay than local competitors, and ample resources to improve outcomes and care. The organization has several avenues to grow a career, pay for higher education, and gain great experience.

      Cons

      Change is slow due to the size of the organization.
