Pay was fair for the role, and there were a few coworkers who genuinely cared about doing good work and supporting each other.
Cons
OccuMedX is extremely cliquish and unprofessional. Mangement is terrible and plays favorites. There’s a clear “in crowd” that gets away with things others would be disciplined for. Communication is inconsistent, accountability is one-sided, and anyone who raises legitimate concerns risks being labeled as negative or difficult. It's very "Do as I say, not as do." HR is not independent. It consists of one person and they are close friends to ownership, which makes it difficult for employees to feel safe bringing forward concerns or to expect unbiased handling of issues. Processes feel reactive and often prioritize management protection over fairness. There’s very little structure or policy clarity, which leads to confusion and unnecessary stress. It’s not an environment that supports professional growth or psychological safety.
