Pros

Some of the people are amazing individuals that deserve so much better than what this company provides them!

Cons

Very poor C-suite leadership and engagement including promotion of a culture of blame, overworking team members without proper pay, false sense of security, blatant lies, and unprofessional behavior (IE: 1) forcing sr manager work on coordinators, 2) the 2 owners had a disagreement and employees got pulled in to it, the CEO quit abruptly leaving the team to run the company, he returned months later buying out the other owner but employees did not receive any gratitude for keeping the clients happy and campaigns running, 3) changing the rules without notifying employees and reprimanding employees for not following new unknown rules). Extreme lack of competitive salary and benefits (with the promise of promotion, bonus, certain benefits but no follow through). No opportunity for growth - not even continuing education. No recognition for employees that take on extra responsibility. No recognition for employee dissatisfaction - no value for employees. Lack of effective communication and time management. Employees were hired under false pretenses and contracted promises were not fulfilled. Extremely high turnover. Asking employees for their honest feelings and then using that honesty against them. No room for error. The expectation is to work/be available to work during PTO giving little to no work-life balance.

Pros

Some of the coworkers are great people who are just being mistreated.

Cons

This company is such a joke. They treat their employees terribly and are very racist. It’s sad that companies can still act this way nowadays. Save your time and don’t interact with them at all—it’s not worth it.

Pros

Honestly, it's incredibly difficult to think of any genuine pros. The experience was overwhelmingly negative, and any potential positives were completely overshadowed by the dysfunctional environment. Leaving the company was the biggest relief.

Cons

Toxic Leadership & Poor Treatment: Management, particularly the directors, fosters an environment of disrespect and mistrust. Employees are treated poorly, blamed for issues outside their control, and there's a distinct feeling that leadership operates against the interests of the staff rather than in support of them. Lack of Resources and Support: Essential resources needed to perform jobs effectively are often lacking, and there's little investment in employee development or meaningful recognition for hard work. Priorities seem misaligned, focusing on leadership's interests rather than core business needs or employee support. Lack of Business Development & Unfair Blame: Employees are wrongly blamed for the lack of new clients, even when business development is not part of their job description. The director actually responsible for bringing in new business has demonstrably failed to secure any significant new clients, relying heavily on the owner's personal connections. This lack of forward momentum is a massive red flag. Zero Career Progression: This is a dead-end job. There are no opportunities for advancement, skill development, or meaningful career progress due to the poor management structure and lack of vision from leadership. Negative Impact on Mental Health: The constant stress, lack of appreciation, unfair blame, and overall toxic atmosphere take a significant toll on mental well-being. It's an incredibly draining place to work. Overall Impression: The entire operation feels deeply unprofessional and poorly managed, given the clear disconnect between leadership priorities and employee well-being or sustainable company health. Warning to Job Seekers: I strongly advise anyone considering working at Octane Public Relations to look elsewhere. If you value career growth, fair recognition and treatment, competent management, and your mental health, this company is not the place for you. The issues run deep and seem unlikely to change under the current leadership.
