Not very generous during the good times, will drop you like a hot rock when things go bad - Senior Software Engineer Office Practicum Employee Review

Pros

Free fruit in the kitchen - onsite

Cons

Worked at office practicum for two years, coronavirus hit and was let go along with the entire QA department. I hear the rest of the company is taking a large paycut. This would be fine but for lackluster bonuses and raises in the previous years, all of the sudden we are a "family" and "need to pull together" "for the greater good". My advice, if you plan to work here increase your asking price by 20 - 30% above market. It's the only way to have a fair deal after a few years.

Pros

Work from home opportunity, benefits

Cons

I joined Office Practicum excited to be part of a company that values healthcare professionals and supports their growth. Unfortunately, my experience ended abruptly and without clarity. I was told I was being let go for “not meeting expectations,” but at no point during my employment did anyone communicate specific issues, concerns, or areas where I needed to improve. I consistently received positive feedback from my trainer and team, and I was under the impression that I was doing well. There were no write-ups, no performance meetings, no coaching sessions—just a sudden 9:00 AM meeting placed on my calendar where I was informed of my termination. The lack of transparency and communication was both confusing and hurtful. It felt like decisions were made behind closed doors, and unfortunately, I couldn’t help but feel that bias or race may have played a role. I was treated cordially up until the very moment I was terminated, which made the experience even more disheartening. I believe that a company truly invested in its employees should offer constructive feedback, training support, and open dialogue before making such a serious decision. That didn’t happen here. I hope Office Practicum takes a closer look at how terminations are handled and ensures fairness, consistency, and communication across all employees moving forward
