Pros
I worked for OnTrack both on premise and remotely. During my time there, I undertook two different roles and I worked on various areas of the main product, as well as on satellite projects. Things that make OnTrack a nice place are:
- Great colleagues, good characters and skilful.
- A culture of inclusion and transparency. Employees are treated fairly regardless of their background, recognised and rewarded for their efforts, and there is good effort to provide them with constructive feedback. They are also encouraged to express their opinion and concerns regarding company matters.
- Tech focused, the company understands the value technology and makes the most out of it. It’s a great place for people interested in Functional Programming and the Microservices movement.
- Interesting and challenging work. The company builds and operates software that serves daily hundreds of thousands of railway and bus passengers.
- Decent financial compensation.
- Flexible hours and remote work.
- Social and sport activities such as quiz nights, beer and pizza Thursdays, football Wednesdays, gym classes and more.
Cons
- Career paths are not well defined.
- Office space, the office is noise and it doesn’t have collaboration areas.
- Benefits are limited and the pension plan is basic.
