Pros

The leadership genuinely cares about their employees and the healthcare service they are delivering. There is generally a good amount of transparency and openness to feedback. There is ongoing effort to maintain an active and inclusive company culture, with ample opportunities to turn coworkers into friends.

Cons

There have been some significant PR shakeups, with OneStudyTeam and their client each seeming to hold the other responsible for the problems that arose. This, together with strident skepticism from industry influencers on whether services like what the company offers are viable, call the company's survivability into question. OST is one of two brands owned by Reify Health, the other being Care Access. The general consensus among (ex-)employees is that Care Access is the higher priority portfolio item, meaning OST is probably more prone to cuts. Both brands have had significant layoffs since December 2022. The first round of layoffs seemed to be unplanned – some of the teams which were eliminated had been actively hiring new members up to the same day the layoffs were announced. My impression is that the company leadership was forced into doing it, and my guess is that this pressure may have come from investors. If that's the case, then no matter how caring and committed the leadership is, they are subject to override by investors with differing priorities, who are not transparent with the employees and do not invite feedback.

Pros

People you work with are great

Cons

Executive management is terrible. Zero accountability. Avoid at all costs. You will be given zero authority but made to own the fallout of executives' bad decisions. Seriously, avoid this company and Care Access if you value your sanity. Benefits are also a race to the bottom. They keep stripping them away because "we found we were above industry standard". Because who wants to do more than the minimum, am I right?
