Pros

big pretty office near Bryant Park

Cons

Really shady tactics to get an employee. Starts out by offering things and then slowly taking each away with lame and vague excuses. They were so vague and dodgy whenever wages and benefits came up. I was supposed to start tomorrow. The job offer was withdrawn because I tried to negotiate for a rate that is at minimum wage or a little over, as we agreed during the interviews. They said they could only do $10/hr. They also started changing my position title in emails from Assistant Print Designer down to Intern! Minimum wage in NYC for a company of this size is $15/hr! They're trying to skirt around the law by calling these positions internships. I was willing to try and give it my all despite these reviews but it's apparent I dodged a bullet. I also wouldn't be surprised if the work I did for their applicant project will end up being used in later collections. Maybe they just conduct these interviews to get free designs. Wouldn't be a stretch with the behavior I've witnessed so far...

Pros

It has been an incredible journey. I’ve grown both personally and professionally. To the ONIA team – I’m forever grateful for the experience and our time together and look forward to seeing all the great things you’ll do in the future. Before I start my next adventure, I'm going to take a little time off and travel Iceland!

Pros

Many of the people I worked with were genuinely kind, supportive, and wonderful to collaborate with. The office space itself was nice, although the open seating setup may not be ideal for everyone. The location was great — unfortunately, that was one of the few major positives I experienced.

Cons

After reading through the reviews, I tried to form my own opinion and block out the noise. However, after spending the last year working here, I experienced and witnessed several concerning issues — frequent hiring and turnover, a toxic work environment, and a pattern of short-term fixes rather than sustainable solutions. Leadership often lacked the support, direction, and guidance you would expect from strong leaders, and the level of micromanagement was unlike anything I have experienced throughout my career. I also witnessed an employee being yelled at and verbally mistreated, which was one of the most unprofessional situations I have ever seen in a workplace. I truly believed this company was moving in a positive direction and growing for the better, but unfortunately, my experience showed me otherwise. On the product side, the prices felt very high for the quality of the clothing. Even with the employee discount, many of the items I purchased either did not fit correctly or had inconsistent sizing. The return rate is extremely high, which speaks volumes about the quality of the products. The number of returns reflects the customer experience and highlights ongoing issues with fit, quality, and consistency. The prices are far too high for the level of quality being delivered.
