Pros

The only thing that really drove me to keep coming back to the office was the co-workers. Everyone got along as close-knit family including the managers and supervisors. We loved one another, got frustrated with one another, hung out outside of the office, and worked well together. Every dynamic of a family. The pay was also very competitive for the area.

Cons

Corporate doesn't care about the bottom line. You give your life to Option Care, and they return you no favors. If there is a way to get rid of you to save a dime, they will. They also do not accept much feedback from the front line staff that would stream line procedures, that would ultimately help the staff be more productive. They run the business on paper primarily and only listen to feedback to identify complainers. During my 4 years employed, I experienced 5 different Directors of Operation. They all fled once they knew they couldn't make a meaningful impact. Corporate expects "yes men" instead of movers and shakers to ultimately make for a better company. They pretend to care, but most money I saw invested was marketing material and animated videos that talked about the future of Option Care. Benefits were horrible. When Bioscrip merged with Option Care, Bioscrip leadership began to phase out the standing Option Care leadership from the top down. However, at least Bioscrip had tuition assistance/reimbursement. During the merger, the current COO, Harriet Booker visited the site and accepted questions to discuss expectations. Tuition assistance was specifically brought up in the meeting and she said that she would take that back to HQ for discussion. Once the merger was finalized, it was announced they were discarding that benefit. They don't want employees to develop personally or professionally, made apparent by all of their policies. Stay away.

Pros

The work is meaningful, and many frontline employees are dedicated, hardworking, and committed to patient care.

Cons

My experience with Option Care Health was defined by poor leadership, lack of accountability, and an unsustainable workload. Work volume increased significantly over a relatively short period of time, while staffing levels did not keep pace. Employees were expected to absorb the additional workload without the resources needed to do so, creating a high-pressure environment that was not sustainable. Leadership lacked visibility and engagement with frontline teams. There was little effort to understand day-to-day challenges, and communication was often inconsistent or absent. This disconnect made it difficult for employees to feel supported. As operational demands grew, responsibility was frequently shifted away from leadership and onto external factors or frontline staff. Employees were made to feel as though they were not doing enough, despite consistently working at or beyond capacity. Additionally, dismissive comments from leadership suggesting that performance issues were due to employees not wanting to work contributed to low morale and did not reflect the reality of a team that was working extremely hard under increasing pressure. Overall, the culture did not prioritize employee support or accountability, leading to burnout and frustration.
