Cons
I've been at Optiv for several years and very much enjoyed working here up until Kevin Lynch joined the company as the new CEO last year. I love my job and enjoy having coworkers who work together to ensure the success of everyone on the team. However, since Kevin came on board, the focus of the company has taken an ugly turn to the political. On nearly every company All Hands call since his arrival, he has verbalized his support for the left and their agenda. This seems to be more important to him than taking Optiv to the next level in the industry. Even though many within the company leaned liberal prior to his arrival, it wasn't an issue because people didn't discuss it and instead focused on doing their jobs. That is no longer the case. Now it's acceptable to speak openly about politics while falsely claiming that you aren't taking sides. It's gotten to the point where if you have conservative political beliefs, it's become quite uncomfortable and is starting to feel like a hostile work environment. I'm a firm believer that politics should be kept completely out of the workplace. Unfortunately, leadership at Optiv doesn't feel the same. Although I've done my best to ignore it, the email communication we received from the CEO today regarding the happenings of January 6th makes it clear that it may be time to seek employment with a company that's focused on business instead of politics. In addition to the politics, there are numerous other things that need to be addressed at Optiv. Communication from upper management needs to be improved. Important information is either withheld or not passed down in a timely fashion. Compensation isn't competitive and health benefits aren't great. Promotion decisions have been questionable.
