Pros

The people are generally great and very supportive, nice office.

Cons

There is a growing problem, particularly in the Edinburgh office, with a large number of employees taking extended sick leave due to stress and burnout. This is due to expectations set by senior management, who are mostly outside of Edinburgh. The response to this problem has been to reduce flexibility in sick pay rather than to do anything to address the mental health of their staff. I'm genuinely not often one to write a critical review like this, but the focus on reducing the financial impact of the issue to the company rather than focusing on the health of the staff should be called out.

Thank you for sharing your view. We would like to clarify that our sickness policy has not changed. Discretionary sick pay has always been applied on a case-by-case basis and continues to be available across all offices. Our policy is aligned on standard practice across the industry and we will be recommunicating the policy across the office to ensure additional clarification as a result of this review. Please be assured that employee wellbeing remains a top priority, and we offer a range of resources to support colleagues’ health and work–life balance including access to our EAP, and additional benefits and subscriptions. We encourage employees to raise any concerns directly through our established HR policies and processes, which are designed to ensure all voices are heard and responded to appropriately. Our management and leadership teams are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where employees feel valued and respected. We are more than happy to discuss your concerns directly, Please contact the HR team at hr@opus2.com.

Pros

Opus 2 truly lives its values, creating an environment where collaboration and innovation are encouraged. The team is full of talented individuals who are skilled, approachable, and helpful. The company is growing and investing in the team and leadership regularly provides updates. In my day-to-day work, I feel respected, trusted, and appreciated. They also take employee feedback seriously, acting on suggestions and survey results.

Cons

The HR and IT teams are very helpful, but they are primarily based in the UK, which can present minor logistical challenges for employees.
