Used to be a great place to work. - Research Assistant Oregon Social Learning Center Employee Review

Pros

Flexible scheduling. Kid friendly. Dog friendly. Laid back and relaxed atmosphere.

Cons

Since new management the place has really gone downhill. Worker satisfaction is lower. Funding has been difficult to obtain. A lot of grant teams have moved to U of O. What used to feel like a happy place where everyone was close now feels stuffy and businesslike. There used to be weekly or monthly social hours but those have stopped almost entirely. High turnover on some grants. Admin keeps getting cut making them difficult to work with. Payroll changes entries on timesheets, even after employee approval and submittal, with zero communication as to why or that they even did it, leading to a smaller or incorrect pay check. Constant employee complaints about little things. Some grants focus entirely on getting data rather than being compassionate with those working for them leading to the high turnover and low employee satisfaction. Getting jobs or being promoted is more of a popularity contest than it is based on actual performance and skills.
