Pros

Sometimes it was fun there

Cons

This place was horrible. My time there damaged both my mental and physical health. This company chews and spits out people who have recently graduated. The pay is not on par with other places around here. If you complain about something, you get the response “that’s startup life” instead of them working on the problems. The ceo does not care about the Indy employees and the local cso is mean and very rude. There are multiple instances of harassment that have occurred while I was there and continue to occur according to my friends who are still there and by checking the website, I can see that the two main offenders are still employed and in positions of power. Trust me. Find anywhere else to work. There is nowhere to go with this job.

Thanks for sharing your feedback; I’m sorry to hear about your negative experience here at Ossium. We’ve been fortunate to bring together a group of talented, passionate people; we wouldn’t be where we are today without the broad contributions of so many employees at all levels of the organization. We’re committed to making the employee experience at Ossium one that benefits everyone who comes through our doors, even if ultimately someone ends up moving on for a role that’s a better fit. We do hire a number of our employees fresh out of college, in true entry level jobs that don’t require five years of experience. As part of our goal to provide growth opportunities for these entry level roles, we’ve worked with team leads and managers to create clear growth plans that outline different paths employees can take as they develop and advance their careers at Ossium. We peg our pay rates to the market, though of course cash is only one aspect of compensation. One of the advantages of coming on board a fast growing startup is equity compensation, which is an important part of our compensation package, and for those who remain the potential upside is enormous. We don’t take claims of harassment lightly, and any time a concern is brought to our attention we take the time to investigate thoroughly, uncover what occurred to the best of our ability, and take appropriate action to ensure that never happens again. If you’re aware of harassment occurring I encourage you to reach out either directly to me or to Jay (People Team leader). We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope you’ve found a role that aligns with your needs and expectations; we wish you the absolute best. -- Kevin, CEO

Pros

There are so many smart, talented people at Ossium. It’s clear that everyone really cares about the mission and wants to help patients in need of transplant or allograft.

Cons

Salaries are sometimes low, but they’ve been increasing over time

Pros

A multitude of opportunities to gain experience because you will likely be solving problems on your own without support.

Cons

This was, without question, one of the most frustrating organizations I have ever worked for. The company talks constantly about innovation, quality, and continuous improvement, but my experience was that those values existed more on paper than in practice. Employees who identified problems, raised concerns, or attempted to improve processes were often ignored. Feedback seemed welcome only when it aligned with decisions that had already been made. One of the most demoralizing aspects of working here was watching leadership repeatedly make questionable personnel decisions. Meanwhile, employees carrying significant responsibility and delivering results were overlooked. There was a persistent disconnect between leadership and reality. Problems were discussed repeatedly, but rarely resolved. The same issues resurfaced month after month while employees were expected to work around them. Instead of addressing root causes, leadership often seemed content with temporary fixes and falsely optimistic messages. Management support was nonexistent. Employees were often left to figure things out themselves. Escalations frequently led nowhere, and accountability was difficult to find. It became crystal clear that raising concerns carried more risk than benefit. What ultimately drove me away was the growing sense that appearances mattered more than substance. The organization seemed far more focused on projecting success than confronting the operational issues that employees were experiencing every day. The most disappointing part is that there are genuinely talented and hardworking people throughout the company. Unfortunately, many of them are forced to operate within a system that does not value their expertise, listen to their concerns, or provide the support necessary for long-term success.
