Pros

-Some employees and two of the managers are some of the best people I have had the opportunity to meet in my life. The kitchen staff were amazing. Customers were almost always lovely and it was a pleasure to meet them and have an opportunity to get to know the regulars. I truly loved working here until I didn't.

Cons

The majority of servers baffled me with their (lack of) work ethic. A lot of time was spent standing around, doing nothing but taking. I've never worked in a restaurant where servers (and a manager) DID this. One server had a habit of trying to make me feel bad about the strangest things. I didn't make a big deal out of it bc well that would be immature, but it was odd behavior. It should have been addressed by management because it isn't appropriate for me to say what I'd liked to have said in the workplace. There were 5 managers for a small restaurant. This is way too many. It was often confusing. Two of them had some kind of bitter rivalry, and would prioritize this disdain for one another over employee wellbeing and customer service, One of them was guilty of so much disregard for employee health and frequent retaliatory actions that I am sure the EEOC would have a field day. Most of the FOH were self-centered, including management, and it became clear that despite how good I was at my job or how hard I worked, I wasn't considered anything but convenient and working me until I became physically ill was fine. Servers would defy orders from managers and the place was in total chaos much of the time. Definitely a sense of favoritism afoot. I'm guilty too, I was a favorite of one but I didn't abuse it and I was in the position because he deeply respected me. Still, I was disposable. Could have been a great place to work but nobody could control the employees. I wish them all the best and I will miss the ones I had the honor to get to know.

Pros

Overall, it was a friendly work environment with supportive coworkers and opportunities to grow for people who are willing to learn and work hard. The kitchen experience is great for improving speed, teamwork, and handling pressure during busy hours.

Cons

the workflow and hours can be very dependent on the high season. During slower periods, shifts and business can fluctuate a lot. Another challenge is that the restaurant was often understaffed, which sometimes made the workload heavier for the team, especially during rush hours.
