Pros

Exposure: The firm gives interns a very good amount of exposure to the Legal Industry. As an intern, I was able to follow the partners to Court, attend client meetings, and assist with research, drafting, and compiling of various documents. Colleagues: My colleagues were very helpful and friendly and were always open to questions. All the staff, including support staff, are welcoming and outgoing; going out for meals and coffee together. The open-door policy of Partners allowed me to interact with almost all of the staff on a personal level. The Partner in charge of me regularly checked in with me and ensured that I was able to keep up with the workload. Flexibility: The work hours were also flexible, with the occasional need for Overtime but no strict regulations on how many hours we were needed to work. My partner allowed me to work from home on days when I had other commitments and was accommodating in allowing me to do so. However, I believe there have been minor changes to this policy, with a recommended one day per week for working from home. Remuneration and staff benefits: The remuneration and benefits for interns are competitive and exceed most other Law firms.

Cons

The firm does lack paralegals and thus certain legal administration is done by the associates, trainees, or interns. Luckily sufficient guidance is given, but only upon request. Interns also usually lack access to the internal file management system. This causes issues with tasks as they would either have to get password access from the trainees/associates or have to repeatedly ask for various documents from the drive. As expected of law firm internships, certain "saikang" tasks are also delegated to interns.
